My lovely friend Courtney had this wedding portrait commissioned for her parent’s 30th wedding anniversary (can you say brownie points?!). 

As you may have guessed from the photo, they got married in the 80’s! Those sleeves, big hair, and dramatic lighting made for a bit of challenge but nothing an extra strong cup of coffee couldn’t handle. Plus, I couldn’t help but think about how sweet it was to recapture this moment in a whimsical watercolor painting, bringing new life to an image that they’ve probably looked at countless times through the years.

If you can’t tell, I’m slightly sentimental. I love thinking about the people behind the paintings. Wishing these crazy kids a very happy anniversary.
