The collection is titled “The Sea is my Mistress” exploring the longing to be at the water at all times. To admire both her fury and grace. There are four seascapes with no shore in sight and two light and airy dune scapes. The paintings are heavy with texture using modeling paste, acrylic and oil pastel with a matte varnish on 14x14 canvas. Framed in hand made float style frames, solid wood and painted white, giving a modern coastal design element and measuring approximately 16x16.

For me, these pieces evoke a deep sense of peace and a touch of adventure. And while they are straightforward seascapes, the thick strokes and mild abstractions give a playfully modern feel.
